Architectural Heritage Conservation, Laser Scanning, Photogrammetry.

ArcHC_3D (stands for Architectural Heritage Conservation in 3 Dimensions) is a research group of CIAUD at the University of Lisbon - Faculty of Architecture. It was created in 2011 as an output of a research project, with the same name, developed in the field of Photogrammetry and Laser Scanning applied to Heritage Conservation.

The main goal of this research group is to improve conservation methodologies and process and to further study and develop the applications of three dimensional documentation and visualization to Conservation, from the scale of small objects to the scale of the city. Another goal is the dissemination of the know-how developed, trough elective courses offered to second cycle and third cycle students

This group gives expert assessments in conservation, and developed new methods for colour measuring and analysis in architecture, building rehabilitation and urban planning, and a methodology for accurate image simulation.

The research group is a member of the “Innova virtual archaeology international network”
