PhD on “The Modern Avenue” from the Royal College of Art (2009), with a grant from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. MPhil in Contemporary Architectural Culture (FAUTL, 2001). Degree in Architecture, recipient of the Quelhas dos Santos Award for academic excellence (FAUTL, 1996). Auxiliary Professor in the Architectural Design Department of Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade de Lisboa and a member of CIAUD. Co-founder of Roseta Vaz Monteiro Arquitectos (2001), and co-author of the Boa Nova Church + Community Centre, a built architectural project which has been published worldwide and has received two relevant international awards: Honours Award promoted by IFRAA, a knowledge community integrated in the American Institute of Architects (2014), and First Place at Abitare il Mediterraneo, an award promoted by the Mediterranean Union of Architects (2013). Author and co-editor of articles, books and chapters in books in the fields of Architecture and Urban Design. Her research focuses on the critical studies of modernity and the impact of technological innovation on architectural practice.
